where am I going...

☮ I'm looking for advice -- my virus protection is about to expire and it costs a lot to renew. Do any of you use free alternatives to McAfee and etc... that you find do a really good job? Where can I find these?


☮ I was adding something to my memories just now and there is a "dean" category, followed by a "doctor who" category and I read it fast as "dean whore." Which didn't actually surprise me on the first read, but then I continued and my brain stopped, rewound, and then did a, "wha-??" I mean, yes, I'm a Dean-whore and all, but I don't necessarily need to advertise it in my memories.


☮ Random: I wore my </bush> t-shirt to dance class the other day and a few people asked me what it meant, so I explained a bit about HTML and blah, blah, and then my dance teacher walked in and laughed and said, "I love your tshirt!" *squiiiiishes other geek*


☮ Maggie Gyllenhaal is just gorgeous. Look at her here. I love when people can accessorize with skin and look amazing doing it. I am in awe of her shoulders.


☮ I meant to say so before, but thank you for all the lovely comments on the Dean/Neville story The Likely Possibility of Soiling One's Trousers. ♥ I started freaking out a little after I'd written it, but people managed to convince me that sometimes a little bit of "just sweet" doesn't have to be a bad thing. So thank you for the lovely feedback. You helped me find my head again.

Am sorting papers to go back into my schoolbag for tomorrow. It'll be really nice to see my students, though with Friday-Sunday being omg, SO BUSY, I certainly wouldn't mind a day to just sit and relax.

It was cold, but sunny and full of pear trees bursting into bloom. I'm looking forward to spring. I can't say we actually had a winter but I'm excited about spring, nevertheless.

Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about tea recently. Last week, I sent fitzette several different kinds in the mail as a sort of sampler. Every time she tries a new one, she emails me with what she was doing and how she took it (with honey or milk or plain or etc...) and what she thought of it. I must confess that I'm enjoying those emails immensely. I love the idea of knowing what someone was doing when they had their tea. Something about the ritual of warm beverages (whatever they may be) just feel so sacred and beautiful to me.

So, I ask you... do you drink tea? Would you be interested in some long, rambling, kaalee post about various types of teas that I'm currently loving?

In case you're like me, here's me, right now: I've brewed a small pot of jasmine green tea blended with rooibos tropica (a red bush tea that's scented with tropical flavors). I put a bit of (usually turbinado) sugar in it and drink it just like that. I'm sitting on the floor of my living room, with papers spread out in front of me. How about you?

We went out to dinner tonight. I love, love going out to dinner because we get to talk and focus on good food and someone else does the dishes. Oh, it's all good.

Then. Um. We went to Home Depot.

Yup. That was my Friday night date. I'm so embarrassed; I used to be so much more interesting. So, how are you all?? ♥

Random drive-by posting... I'm definitely checking my IJ friendslist sometimes -- just on a much more infrequent (and totally random) basis than I'd originally thought. If there's something that you'd like me to see, poke me here. I promise, I'll like it. ;)

I started this journal to serve as a back up and possible site for blogging depending on how things go with LJ. I likely be adding/archiving a lot of previous LJ posts (fandom, teaching, & real life) here over the next week or so.

Other than that I have nothing very interesting to say... yet. :)
